Fitmotivation is a video-on-demand resource for aquatic fitness instructors, but sometimes you can’t get in the pool and need a substitute land fitness routine. Additionally, some subscribers teach both land and water classes. Therefore, each year we strive to film at least three low-impact fitness workouts to grow our land fitness video library. Mat Strength and Stretch features Jackie Lebeau and 20 minutes of floor work that includes light muscle conditioning, leg work and stretching.
Jackie is a self-declared water baby. Before she could walk, she was enrolled in baby & me swim lessons with her dad. She grew up competing on various swim teams, teaching swim lessons, life guarding, and playing water polo. She started teaching aquatic exercise classes in high school and then obtained her water fitness certification in college. Fitness has that snowball effect and soon after her certification the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), she pursued land-based group certification, personal training certification, and yoga certification. Jackie is currently the fitness director for the University of Virginia and a training specialist with AEA.
Mat Strength and Stretch is a workout that can be easily performed with just a mat and light set of hand weights. If you have carpet, you don’t even need a mat. Additionally, you can use water bottles in place of hand weights. Fitmotivation’s land fitness videos are all low or non-impact, with a focus on cardio, muscle conditioning, joint mobility and stretching.
Fitmotivation extends a big thank you to Jackie for once again sharing her class content with subscribers and for returning to Florida to film for the 5th time. Jackie first filmed in 2016 and was one of my first colleagues to film for Fitmotivation. Check out her extensive library of Fitmotivation videos and look for her to return for more filming in 2027.
