This video preview is for Aqua Fluid Pilates, posted 12/21/16

Looking to add standing Pilates and core movement to your classes?   Italian Aqua Expert, Giorgia Collu, shares some of her signature aqua Pilates in the recently posted video, Aqua Fluid Pilates.

This routine showcases standing Pilates choreography that includes both isolated and sequenced movement.   Viewers will take away combinations of movement that engage the ‘powerhouse’ through rhythmic arm and leg patterning.   The last part of the video includes adapted Pilates movement with the noodle.

The movements and the combinations in this video can be blended into other mind & body formats.  For example, Giorgia shares several rhythmic combinations of movement that would be beautifully paired with yoga.  Instructors could also consider using portions of the routine for regular aqua fit classes in the warm-up or cool down as the arm and leg patterns move through all of the major joint articulations and can serve as active stretching.

As in all videos, movements can be used individually or in a more linear fashion.  They do not have to be choreographed.  Giorgia shares some powerful movements that isolate core, arms and legs.  Obviously, the movement in this video is presented in a more sequenced and choreographed manner.  The combinations are often linked and added on to create a seamless flow of fluid movement.  The last portion of the video includes a noodle segment with challenging core isolation and sequencing.

Fitmotivation would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Giorgia for sharing her video with Fitmotivation subscribers.   Giorgia is an international training specialist for AEA and Hydrorider.  She was awarded the 2012 AEA Global Award for Aquatic Fitness Professional.   Giorgia will be returning once again to IAFC in 2017.  Look for her there.
