Aquatic Kickboxing Combos

Sunday, September 15 2024

Encourage your class participants to kick and punch their way to fitness in the low-impact environment of the pool. 15-Minute Aqua Combat Action with Cindy Vance-Brossman features several aqua kickboxing combinations that will challenge to your class members coordination and stamina.

Aquatic Fitness Video-at-a-Glance
This 15-minute aqua fitness instructor video does not include a warm-up or cool down because it is intended to be included or combined with other water fitness programming.  The content includes nine aquatic kickboxing combinations. Each combination features two exercise combos that are first taught separately and then combined. This video is labeled advanced because there is a greater level of skill required on behalf of both the instructor and the participants. Consider doing less combos and breaking them down longer when first instructing. Equipment is not used, however encouraging the use of webbed gloves would add extra resistance to the punches. If your facility has Aqualogix drag equipment, you could also consider the use of the ankle fins and upper body bells for maximal resistance. Below, Cindy describes the workout in greater detail.

Aqua Combat Cardio Fun
By Cindy Vance-Brossman
Are you looking for 15 minutes of extra kickboxing cardio to add to your classes? If so, this video is for you. In this kickboxing cardio, we introduce a small combo performed for 30 seconds, a 2nd combo for 30 seconds, then put them together in a completed combination that is performed for 30 more seconds. There are nine kickboxing combos in total.

The inspiration behind Aqua Combat Action was the demand for 15-minute Fitmotivation videos, along with my love for creating martial arts combos for my aquatic fitness classes.  Martial arts was a sport I discovered in my 40’s, and I even earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Because I have aged two decades since then, doing martial arts on land has become tough on my joints. However, in the water I can go all out, which is why I love bringing it to my classes. Teaching in martial arts in the water allows My students to experience less impact while still being able to perform powerfully at a high intensity. I hope you enjoy these aquatic kickboxing combinations.
