STRETCH FUSION II - 3 MIND & BODY WORKOUTS

Tuesday, July 02 2019

The above Preview video is for Stretch Fusion II, which posted on 8/15/16

USA Aqua Expert and WECOACH Founder, Laurie Denomme, shares three ready-to-use mind/body workouts in her video, Stretch Fusion II, which was just posted.  These movement combinations are specifically designed to improve balance, core stabilization, muscular endurance, flexibility and range of motion.

The philosophy behind Stretch Fusion II is two fold:  1) every exercise has a purpose, along with options and progressions.  2) Core stabilization provides the foundation for movement.  In this video, I absolutely love how Laurie progresses basic yoga poses, such as Warrior I, II, III, Chair, Dancer, Tree and more with various progression techniques.   These techniques include the use of props, varying base of support, altering arm and leg positioning, as well as adding movement and turbulence.

The Stretch Fusion II workout is broken into three segments and designed to provide immediate results.

THREE SEGMENTS – three Ready-to-use routines and a systematic approach to total body conditioning:

1.  Core Stabilization & Balance

·     Focus on abdominal bracing

·     Increase muscular endurance of core muscles

·     Challenge static postural stability

·     Integrate weight transfer

2.  Muscular Endurance

·     Move with intention

·     Use progressive overload

·     Integrate movement in all planes of motion

3.  Range of Motion – YOGA postures will:

·     Increase joint range of motion

·     Practice extension of the body

·     Enhance circulation and venous return

·     Blend together static & dynamic options

PROGRAM INSTRUCTION TIPS
Teach basic Yoga postures
Add movement to create sequences that balance the body in all 3 planes of motion
Add progressions and provide options
Use various teaching styles to keep it fresh!
Integrate concepts into ROM programs, circuit classes or use as a fabulous finish to any workout!

WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY Instructors and aqua enthusiasts will take away three ready-to-use workouts that feature multi-planar static and dynamic movement progressions.  These movement progressions can be utilized as stand-alone mind & body workouts or included in an active warm-up, cool down or final stretch segment.  Or consider using these purposeful movement progressions as recovery segments in a higher intensity program.
