Stretching and Mobility Chair Fitness

Tuesday, March 28 2023

Sassy Senior Sitdown with Shelley Owens is a 30-minute chair program that includes seated & standing movement, along with exercises using a ball. Whether you are a land fitness instructor or just looking for a substitute aqua class when the pool is closed, Fitmotivation is dedicated to expanding their land fitness category.

The sassy inspiration behind this video began during the Covid pandemic when people were quarantined and couldn’t go to the gym or the pool. Shelley teaches for her daughter, Sharlie Peterson’s Topeka-based business, Shockwave Aqua Fitness. Like many other fitness professionals during the pandemic, they filmed various in-home exercise videos as an alternative to attending live classes. As a substitute instructor for the Silver Sneakers chair-based fitness program, Shelley was comfortable with leading chair exercise sessions.
