SUMMER WORKOUT RECOMMENDATIONS

Tuesday, July 02 2019

One of the best features of a Fitmotivation subscription is that you can subscribe and unsubscribe as much and as often as you want.   There is no commitment beyond one month and that makes it exceptionally affordable to have access to over 130 full-length aquatic fitness videos.

And that means Fitmotivation has lots of seasonal subscribers.  Last June and July were the largest sign-up months ever since the site launched in 2014.  Many instructors only teach classes in outdoor pools during the summer months and lots of aqua enthusiasts are looking for workout ideas for their backyard pools.

Welcome back summer instructors and aqua enthusiasts.  Lots of videos have posted since you were last subscribed in the fall.  Allow me to make some recommendations of workouts you may want to consider teaching in your classes this summer. Watch the video above and read the recommendations below.

Aqua Rejuvenate
Just posted…this tilt your face in the sun – feel good kind of workout is perfect for an outdoor pool.  Low impact choreography is blended with freestyle training for upper body, lower body and core.  The freestyle segments feature an intuitive approach that allows students to either opt for strength training or stretching.

Aqua Functional AMRAPs
Looking for something more aggressive to deliver some shock and awe this summer?  Andrea from Italy is back with a killer AMRAP workout.  Pick four exercises and then assign 20 reps of each to your students.  Then challenge them to do as many rounds as possible in a 5-minute time period.  Repeating these 5-minute rounds with four new exercises each time creates an AMRAP workout.

Dual Depth Pyramids
Speaking of challenges, consider unleashing the wet & wild pyramid challenge in your classes.   Prejudiced I may be, but I think this high-energy cardio workout is the bomb and so do my students.  Best of all – it can be performed in either shallow or deep water.

Afro-Robics
Heat up the pool this summer with some tribal energy?  Elson from the Netherlands is busting some serious moves on the pool deck in this fun, choreographed workout. This video will be posting on June 12.

Let’s Have a Ball
Mushi from Israel is back!  Remember her from that famous Frisbee video?  Only this time she is ready to play ball.  Summer is a great time to get out those small plastic balls for some unique and challenging aquatic fitness programming.  Her video will be posting on June 19.

Liquid Pilates
Looking for new ideas for noodles & hand buoys?  Claire from Australia just filmed Liquid Pilates and I can testify as the student in her video that you are going to love these Pilates adapted moves using the noodle as a reformer and the buoys as a Wunda Chair.  Her video will post on June 26

Coming in July
Aqua Ballet Beats with Claire Barker-Hemings
10 Minutes – 10 Exercises (Workout Series) with Ruth Sova
Kickboxing Pool HIITS with Mark Grevelding
