WEST COAST REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Tuesday, July 02 2019

Attention West Coast Aqua Peeps, AEA is returning to San Diego in December for another regional conference that will feature multiple presenters and a wide variety of aquatic fitness programming.  This is your chance to reignite your aqua passion with new ideas and earn CECs.

Scheduled for December 6-8, the West Coast Regional Conference is now open for registration.   The event location is the Bahia Resort Hotel in the famed Mission Bay region of San Diego.  AEA was at this location three years ago and I can confidently say that THIS is an event well worth traveling for.  The resort is surrounded by water and within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean.   The lecture room, adorned with a huge Christmas Tree and overlooking a harbor, was simply the most stunning location I have ever taught in.    However, I must say that the main lecture room at the future IAFC 2019 Daytona location will rival this  San Diego room for stunning scenery.

Regional conferences have always been among my favorite events because they provide a more intimate environment for learning.  The West Coast Regional Conference features four other presenters in addition to myself.  Joining me are fellow USA AEA Training Specialists, Ashley Bishop, Karen Creasey and Jackie Lebeau.  And this year's VIP presenter is Javier Bergas del Rio, an AEA International Training Specialist from Spain.   Javier gets rave reviews at IAFC and has been among the top evaluated IAFC presenters over the past few years.

The conference kicks off on Thursday, December 6 with the AEA Aquatic Fitness Practical Applications Course, led by Karen; and I will be teaching the AEA Arthritis Foundation Program Leader Development Course.  The AEA Arthritis Foundation (AF) program was a game changer for me when I took it a couple years ago.   Since then, I have incorporated many of the AF exercises in my aquatic program, reinventing my warm-ups, cool downs and many other aquatic activities.  The exercise (land) portion of the AEA AF program also built up my confidence to lead chair classes at the YMCA.   The chair classes are now near and dear to my heart.

The regular conference sessions on Friday and Saturday (December 7 & 8) include a wide variety of aquatic fitness programming, including choreography, deep, cardio, core, yoga, upper body, ballet, hand buoys, kickboards, stretching and more.  Three of my Fitmotivation videos will come to life at the Bahia Resort, including Aqua Armed Forces, Aqua Rejuvenate and Dual Depth Pyramids.  Conference attendees will earn 16 AEA CECs if they attend both Friday and Saturday.  ACE, AFAA, ATRI and NASM CECs are also offered.

Heads up aqua friends!   Regional conferences don't come around to such beautiful locations like this very often.  Take my word, this one is WELL WORTH hopping on a plane for.  You don't even need a rental car.   Uber your way to the resort and then chill and learn in true Southern California fashion.
