Carine Van den Berghe
In her youth Carine participated in gymnastics, jazz dance and modern dance (part recreation, part competition). She started teaching at a gym/club when she was 15, teaching gymnastics and dance to children and bodysculpt and fitness lessons for adults. She then obtained her bachelor degree in physical education.
Afterwards, she specialized in aerobics, step and bodysculpt and taught at various fitness clubs in Ghent (Belgium). It was here that she met Martine Flamen who introduced her to aquatic fitness. Carine started teaching aquatic fitness and working for Martine’s company, Aqua & Move.
She has now been teaching for Aqua & Move for 20 years and also helps to organize a small aqua fitness convention (AMIAC) annually, where she also teaches master classes. Carine also teaches body sculpt and Xcore classes at a fitness club in Ghent.
Currently, her primary employment is in the sports department of the city of Ghent, where she works as a sports assistant. She is responsible for organizing swimming courses for youth and adults. Additionally, she is responsible for the recruitment and further education of the swimming instructors.
