Unleash some holiday fun in your classes with a S’WET AMRAP Challenge. This 15-minute cardio burst features Jenni Lynn and Chris, along with five of their favorite S’WET moves. The moves are taught for “as many reps as possible” in 60 seconds followed by 30 seconds of rest. The five moves are then repeated a second time so that your class members can challenge themselves to beat their first-round scores.
AMRAP is a type of high intensity interval training (HIIT) that features basic moves taught with all-out intensity, followed by a brief rest period. Intermittent training that includes high intensity bouts of work followed by a recovery period has been proven to be an effective way to boost the metabolic rate, while burning calories and body fat. In the video, the work cycle involves performing as many reps as possible for one minute, followed by 30 seconds of rest. However, AMRAP can be taught with whatever timing is best for your class population.
Given all of the HIIT workouts streaming on Fitmotivation, subscribers are hopefully stockpiling lots of simple templates for delivering easy-to-teach workouts that deliver a challenge and keep the students coming back for more. AMRAP is as simple as it gets. Just pick out 10 of your class members’ favorite exercises and instruct each for as many reps as possible for 60 seconds, followed by 30 seconds of rest for a 15-minute round. Repeat the round two times for a 30-minute cardio challenge. You can even consider three rounds for a 45-minute workout. Add in a warm-up and cooldown and you have a 60-minute class. Better yet, select 12 exercises for a different variation of the 12 Moves of Fitness during the holiday season.
Best of S’WET AMRAP is not only a challenge to do, but it is fun to watch Jenni Lynn and Chris compete with each other and against their own times in the second round. This video is another example of filming with the new boom mic system so that the viewer feels like they are in the pool with the instructor. We hope you enjoy this workout and this style of filming. Your feedback is always welcome.
On behalf of Fitmotivation, I want to wish our subscribers a happy and healthy holiday season. The next video to drop is Core Suspense, a deep-water workout featuring Shelley Owens (Sharlie’s mom!). That video will post on December 28, 2022.
