Aquatic Fitness Challenge Accepted

Wednesday, August 06 2025

As instructors, we all know what the perception of aquatic fitness is. Think seniors waving around pool noodles in the air.  S’WET creator, Jenni Lynn Patterson-LaCour is fully invested in changing that perception and her latest video proves it. Challenge Accepted is a high intensity cardio and strength dual depth pool workout.

A popular and longtime instructor with Fitmotivation, Jenni Lynn has been filming since 2015, when she debuted her break out S’WET Boot Camp. In 2017, she filmed S’WET Challenge.  As she prepared to return for more filming this summer, she asked if I had any requests. Of course I did. To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of S’WET Boot Camp, I asked her to do a remake. Last month, S’WET Boot Camp 2 was posted. Additionally, I requested her to do a remake of S’WET Challenge. I loved being the student in that 2017 video. The challenge was real. And the challenge is back. What makes this class stand out?  I loved the presentation of base move variations with the “challenge” part that involves class members choosing their favorite variations.

Challenge Accepted: Class-at-a-Glance
This aquatic fitness instructor video includes a warm-up, cool down and 8 exercise segments. As mentioned above, this is a dual depth workout and can be instructed in both deep and shallow water.
BASE CAMP BURN
This portion of the video is 20 minutes and includes segments 2 and 3. Five base moves are featured: Skis, Jacks, Kicks, Jogs and Twists. Four challenging exercise variations are presented for each base move. Each variation is instructed for 1 minute each, and the class members will definitely feel that longer duration.
RAPID FIRE ROUNDS
In segment 4, participant gets to accept the challenge and choose their favorite variation from each of the five base moves and perform it for 45 seconds each. Participants get 15 seconds of rest before moving to the next variation.
GEAR UP & GO
This portion includes segments 5, 6, 7 & 8.  The four segments each feature four exercises using different equipment: hand buoys, gloves, noodles and Hydrorevolution Drag Bells. Important! If you do not have the equipment, you simply instruct the exercises without. Don’t skip this fun class format thinking you can’t do it without the equipment, because you can. The water’s resistance is plenty.
THE FINISHER
Similar to the Rapid Fire Rounds, the participant gets to choose their favorite piece of equipment and the exercises that went with it. Instructors can modify this to suit what equipment they did or didn’t use.

Fitmotivation extends a big thank you to Jenni Lynn for sharing yet another challenging and fun class format. Check out her full library of Fitmotivation videos and stay tuned for two more videos with her this fall.
