Silver Wave Warriors with Jenni Lynn Patterson-LaCour is a senior aquatic fitness class format utilizing a pair of hand buoys and designed to help participants build better balance, boost strength and move with confidence. Whether you teach this class deep or shallow, this joint-friendly format meets your members needs where ever they are on the fitness spectrum.

Our fitness pursuits change as we age. Exercise activities in our 20’s, 30’s and 40’s begin to evolve in our 50’s and 60’s as a lifetime of wear and tear and chronic injuries take a toll. Our older adult class members must learn how to navigate their fitness activities around achy joints and health issues. Consequently, they choose water exercise because they can still enjoy higher intensity exercise without impact and without aches and pains. Flexibility to avoid injury and balance training to avoid falls should become an essential part of older adult exercise. Ultimately, senior exercise becomes all about training to meet the needs of daily living.  Moreover, as people transition into their 70s and 80s, the overriding goal of physical activity is to stay strong in order to maintain independent living.

The inspiration for Silver Wave Warriors came from a couple of Jenni Lynn’s earlier videos. Filmed in 2018, Silver S’WET was her first foray into older adult programming after becoming well known for her high intensity boot camp style videos. Deck Blocks was filmed shortly after, and this content inspired her signature S’WET certificate programs that focus on “Structured Water Exercise Training.” This type of class programming is built in blocks to better target the essential components of fitness. Silver S’WET is now a certificate program for instructors and Silver Wave Warriors is a video that encompasses the essence of S’WET Silver programming.
