Get ready to make your students S’WET with a high-intensity aquatic fitness class format that uses only the water’s resistance. Jenni Lynn and Chris were back in Florida in September and filmed 8 videos. First up, join Jenni Lynn in Aqua Depth, a challenging interval workout that can be taught in either deep or shallow water.
Simple but Challenging
Similar to Jenni Lynn’s other class formats, Aqua Depth is simple to teach and simple to follow. The template features base moves that are taught with intensity variations. The class routine features interval training with a variety of timing ratios for work and recovery. Designed to showcase the power of the water’s resistance, there is no equipment required other than a flotation belt for those exercising in the deep end. In one of the segments, a noodle is recommended to help students with form if they are exercising in the shallow end of the pool.
Dual Depth Programming
The term dual depth simply means that the class format was designed with moves that could be performed in deep or shallow with no modifications required. Fitmotivation is committed to offering as many dual depth workouts as possible because it provides instructors with both a deep and a shallow routine. Even better, it allows them to teach to both depths at the same time, which maximizes space and income potential. All instructors should be encouraged to add dual-depth class creation into their skill set because it provides good customer service by giving members a choice at which depth they want to exercise in. Watch Jenni Lynn talk more about dual depth programming.
Aqua Depth: Class-at-a-Glance
Aqua Depth is a 45-50 minute format that includes a warm-up, cool down and five working segments. The first working segment is wall-optional. In the video, Jenni Lynn demonstrates how the exercises can be taught without a wall. The next two working segments feature 3-2-1 and pyramid training. The fourth working segment is core-focused and Jenni Lynn recommends a noodle for class members in the shallow end so that they can better position their bodies with the neutral buoyancy. The last working segment is a Tabata round with 8 different exercises. The music used in this video is Boot Camp 1 and available to download from Power Music for $14.95.
