Kickboard Ideas for Aquafit Class

Tuesday, November 03 2026

Kickboard CoreDination with Melissa Plumeau features kickboard exercises that you can include in your aquatic fitness classes. Transform a common piece of swim equipment into a versatile training tool to help your class members build strength, stability and coordination.

Class Summary
Fitmotivation typically films longer full-length water workouts that average between 45-55 minutes. But we also film shorter 15–20-express videos because subscribers enjoy quickly diving into a shorter video and quickly taking away ideas for their classes.  This 17-minute video does not include a warmup or cool down because it is intended to be a stand-alone class.  This video simply includes kickboard exercises that you can include in your regular aquatic fitness classes.
Kick CoreDination features drag resistance that targets strength and stability with grounded movement. It also includes movement that targets the core with rotational drag resistance. Below are the 3-4 minute segments included in the video.
Segment 1:  Grounded Core1
Segment 2:  Rotational Power 1
Segment 3: Grounded Core 2
Segment 4: Rotational Power 2
Segment 5: Grounded Core 3

Type of kickboard used in the Video
Kickboards come in all shapes and sizes. It is best to use a kickboard that is similar in shape and size to the one used in the video.  This Speedo Kickboard Amazon link is the same one used in the video. This TYR kickboard Amazon link is the same shape and size, but for less money.
